Music
I’m
an eclectic musician playing a mixture of blues, traditional folk, jazz and
original songs and instrumentals. I
bring a guitar and autoharp to performances, and occasionally other instruments
as the spirit moves me.
My
influences range from Josh White and Mississippi John Hurt, to Theodore Bikel
and Cisco Houston. Many years in the
Mid-West has left me with a love of the traditional music of the American
heartland.
My
shows are upbeat and the music is meant to entertain and amuse, rather than
present some deep philosophy or political position.
I
have been performing locally in clubs, coffeehouses, festivals, house parties
and events. I’d like to perform for you.
Story Telling
Story Telling Is Not Just For Children
My
stories are both original and drawn from traditional sources. I particularly
enjoy tales from my Jewish heritage and the stories from the One Thousand and
One Arabian Nights Entertainments.
I also
have stories from Eastern and European cultures. My own stories range from
Adirondack tall-tales (ask me about my uncle Madman Zeke) to personal views
about life and death, as well as the occasional thriller/ ghost story.
I
have told my stories at parties, in coffeehouses and at Tellabration 2000 and
2001.
